Swibit is actively expanding in Oman, working on strategic engagements with government and enterprise clients in areas including AI consultancy, digital transformation, and technology modernisation — aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Solution Architect to lead the technical design of Swibit's engagements in Oman. You will own the end-to-end solution design — from understanding client requirements and constraints, through architecture definition, to guiding engineering teams during implementation and ensuring the delivered system matches the design.

This is a senior, client-facing role. You will sit in the room with government CTOs and IT directors, understand their challenges, and design solutions that are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with sovereignty and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

• Design end-to-end technical solutions for government and enterprise clients — covering application architecture, integration, data, infrastructure, and security

• Produce architecture documents — solution overview, component diagrams, integration maps, data flow diagrams, deployment architecture

• Define technology stacks, platform choices, and build-vs-buy decisions for each engagement

• Design for data sovereignty — on-premises deployment, air-gapped environments, and compliance with Omani data regulations

• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices

• Review and validate architecture decisions throughout the delivery lifecycle

Pre-Sales & Advisory

• Support the Business Development team during the proposal process — solution scoping, effort estimation, and technical writing

• Lead technical presentations and demos for prospective clients

• Conduct technology assessments and gap analyses for client environments

• Provide advisory on digital transformation strategy, modernisation roadmaps, and AI adoption

• Contribute to RFP/RFI responses with credible, well-structured technical content

Client Engagement

• Serve as the senior technical point of contact for client stakeholders — CTOs, IT directors, technical committees

• Facilitate architecture workshops and design sessions with client teams

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear language for non-technical decision-makers

• Build trust and credibility as a senior technology advisor

Delivery & Engineering

• Guide engineering teams during implementation — ensure the build matches the architecture

• Conduct architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical quality checks

• Resolve technical escalations and blockers that require architectural decisions

• Work with the Platform and Infrastructure teams on deployment and environment design

• Ensure integration points with third-party systems are well-defined and tested

Requirements

Essential

• Based in Oman or willing to relocate to Muscat

• 8–12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a solution architecture or technical lead role

• Proven experience designing solutions for government or enterprise clients — ideally in the GCC

• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns — microservices, event-driven, API-first, multi-tenant

• Experience with cloud and on-premises deployment — hybrid architectures, sovereignty-compliant designs

• Solid understanding of integration patterns — APIs, ESBs, ETL, message brokers, identity federation

• Experience with security architecture — authentication, authorisation, encryption, network segmentation

• Ability to produce clear, professional architecture documentation and diagrams

• Excellent communication and presentation skills — comfortable presenting to C-level stakeholders

• Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic strongly preferred

Preferred

• Experience with AI/ML system architecture — model serving, RAG pipelines, LLM integration, data pipelines

• AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional)

• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification

• Experience with Odoo, ERP systems, or large-scale system integration

• Familiarity with Oman's regulatory and compliance landscape (data protection, government IT standards)

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code at the architecture level

• Background in the public safety, transport, healthcare, or financial services sectors

• Experience working in a consulting or systems integration firm
