Role Overview

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team in Iraq. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation's IT infrastructure — including network systems, CCTV, end-user devices, and printers — ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations, fast issue resolution, and reliable system performance across all departments.

This role sits at the intersection of hands-on technical support and infrastructure reliability. You will be the first line of defence for our users and the backbone of our local IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Support

  • Manage and maintain building network infrastructure including wireless access points, network switches, and firewall systems
  • Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity issues across the organisation
  • Administer and monitor FortiGate Firewall — configuration, rules, VPN setup, and ongoing monitoring
  • Manage Cisco switches — VLANs, port configuration, basic troubleshooting
  • Ensure stable LAN/WAN connectivity across all departments

CCTV System Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems across office and site locations
  • Manage and troubleshoot NVR systems, IP/analogue cameras, and UTP cabling
  • Ensure continuous recording and system availability at all times
  • Perform routine maintenance and camera adjustments as required

End-User Computer Support

  • Install and configure Windows operating systems and required software
  • Troubleshoot Windows errors, performance issues, and system failures
  • Provide technical support for desktops and laptops — hardware and software
  • Handle basic hardware troubleshooting (RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard-level diagnosis)
  • Ensure antivirus software and security updates are properly maintained across all devices

Printer & Scanner Support

  • Install and configure network and local printers and scanners
  • Troubleshoot printing, scanning, and driver issues
  • Perform routine printer maintenance — toner replacement, paper jams, cleaning
  • Support multifunction devices (print/scan/copy)

User Support & Helpdesk

  • Respond to IT support requests promptly and professionally
  • Provide on-site and remote support to users across the organisation
  • Maintain IT support logs and ticket tracking
  • Deliver clear and accessible IT guidance to non-technical users

IT Inventory & Asset Management

  • Track all IT equipment — PCs, laptops, printers, and network devices
  • Maintain up-to-date records of IT assets
  • Assist in procurement planning and replacement cycles as required

Backup & Basic System Support

  • Monitor backups for critical systems and flag anomalies
  • Support basic server or cloud services where applicable
  • Assist in data recovery processes and ensure ongoing data availability

Requirements

Essential

  • Based in Iraq (on-site role)
  • 2–4 years of professional IT support or systems administration experience
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Hands-on experience with FortiGate Firewall — configuration, rules, VPN, monitoring
  • Experience with Cisco switches — VLANs, port configuration, basic troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with CCTV systems — NVR, IP/analogue cameras, cabling
  • Proficiency with printer and scanner setup and maintenance
  • Basic hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)

Preferred

  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with remote support and helpdesk ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of Active Directory or Google Workspace administration
  • Exposure to basic server administration (Windows Server or Linux)
  • Experience with IT asset management systems
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity practices and endpoint protection

  • Clear career growth path (IT Support → Senior IT Support → IT Infrastructure Engineer)
