Role Overview
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our product design team in Iraq. You will own the end-to-end design process — from user research and wireframing through to high-fidelity prototypes and developer handoff — for mobile and web products serving users across Iraq and the MENA region.
You will work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Owners, and Backend Engineers to turn complex requirements into clean, intuitive experiences. Your designs will directly shape products used by thousands of people.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Craft
Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma
Create responsive designs for mobile (iOS & Android) and web applications
Build and maintain components within Swibit's design system — ensuring consistency across all products
Design for Arabic-first and bilingual (Arabic/English) interfaces with proper RTL support
Produce interaction specifications, micro-animations, and design tokens for developer handoff
Research & Strategy
Conduct user research — interviews, usability testing, and competitive analysis
Translate business requirements into user journeys, personas, and information architecture
Use data and user feedback to iterate on existing designs
Advocate for the user in sprint planning and stakeholder conversations
Collaboration & Standards
Work within Swibit's agile delivery process — sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Partner with Frontend Engineers to ensure design fidelity in implementation
Participate in design critiques and contribute to the team's design culture
Document design decisions, patterns, and guidelines for the team
Mentor junior designers and Academy graduates
Requirements
Essential
Based in Iraq (able to work from the office on a hybrid schedule)
2–4 years of professional UI/UX design experience for digital products
Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile and web design work
Expert-level proficiency in Figma (components, auto-layout, variables, prototyping)
Solid understanding of UX principles — usability, accessibility, information architecture
Experience designing for RTL (Arabic) interfaces
Understanding of design systems and component-based design
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business)
Strong visual design sense — typography, colour, spacing, hierarchy
Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
Preferred
Experience designing for React Native / mobile-first products
Familiarity with motion design (Principle, After Effects, or Figma prototyping)
Experience with user research methods — usability testing, A/B testing, analytics
Knowledge of front-end constraints (CSS, responsive breakpoints, platform guidelines)
Familiarity with iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design
Experience in a startup or fast-paced product environment
Illustration or icon design skills
